A moerate earthquake struck ladakh and some neighboring areas at 9 pm yesterday, causing power cuts and damage to buildings but no causalities. The tremor was measured 6.8 on the Richter scale. "There has been damage to power, gas, and water supplies, and there has been disrupted phone contact," said Reza Khan, a spokesman for the National Earthquake Monitoring Center.
